Project Rustic Refined Reveal – Part 3

And just like that, we’re at the final chapter of Project Rustic Refined. If Part One introduced you to the main living spaces and Part Two showed how thoughtfully we designed the secondary rooms, Part Three is where the home becomes deeply personal. These are the bedrooms and bathrooms — the spaces where this family rests, recharges, and spends quiet moments together.
In every luxury new construction project we design, we believe bedrooms and bathrooms deserve just as much intention as kitchens and living rooms. These rooms may be more private, but they should still feel layered, timeless, and uniquely tailored to the people who use them.

Main Bedroom
The main bedroom carries subtle similarities to our Black Oak House project — which makes sense, since the clients were inspired by that original floor plan — but this space was carefully reimagined to feel entirely their own.
White oak box beams stretch across the ceiling, offering a cleaner, more refined contrast to the reclaimed beams seen elsewhere in the home. And yes — these are true box beams, constructed with three pieces for a streamlined look.
The stone wall, finished in Midway Brown stone, anchors the room and creates warmth without overpowering it. The palette is calm, layered, and grounded — exactly what a primary suite should feel like at the end of a long day. It’s cozy, elevated, and timeless.

Main Bathroom
The main bathroom is a continuation of that refined rustic warmth. A two-tone wood stain defines the space — slightly greyer tones on the v-groove accent wall, paired with lighter, warmer cabinetry for subtle contrast.
Crest-shaped mirrors hang above dual vanities, separated by a custom cabinet tower that provides additional storage while visually dividing the space. At the center, a freestanding tub sits against a stone accent wall, topped with a jaw-dropping commissioned abstract artwork by Tyler Guinn — a moment that feels both artistic and serene.
Behind the tub wall, double doors lead into the shower, creating a sense of privacy while maintaining flow. This bathroom blends luxury and warmth in a way that feels intentional, not overdone.

Girls Room
Layered bedding takes center stage in the girls’ room — and while it may look intricate, it’s truly just thoughtful layering.
We started with crisp white sheets with scalloped detailing, folded back to show off that sweet edge. A block-print quilt and matching shams anchor the bed, layered with plaid and velvet accent pillows in burgundy, blush mauves, and warm neutrals.
A gauzy linen coverlet and striped comforter at the foot of the bed add softness and contrast. The result feels cozy, textured, and collected — the perfect retreat for sweet little girls to grow up in.

Boys Room
The boys’ room was designed for a young gentleman — tailored but still playful.
A plaid rug grounds the space, paired with a grey upholstered headboard featuring leather detailing. Striped bedding keeps things classic, while brass mid-century–style sconces add just the right amount of character. A leather chair brings warmth and depth, creating a room that feels polished yet comfortable — a space that can easily grow with him over time.

Boys Bathroom
The boys’ bathroom is one of those spaces that makes you smile. Blue v-groove paneling wraps the walls below the chair rail, adding texture and personality. Mid-tone brown shaker cabinetry anchors the space, while nautical-inspired sconces tie everything together.
And the bison art print? So good. It’s playful without being childish, which is always the goal in kids’ bathroom design.

Bunk Room
The bunk room is equal parts functional and sweet. Custom-built bunks feature twin beds on top and full-size beds below, making the space practical for both kids and guests. Stairs between each bunk lead safely to the top, and built-in drawers beneath the lower beds maximize storage — because good design always works hard.
Beadboard lines the bunk wall, and rosy-brown floral bedding paired with framed dried florals above each bed adds a soft, girlie touch. Individual sconces at each bunk make the space feel finished and cozy.

Guest Bedroom
The guest suite sits privately on the opposite side of the home, offering visitors a space that feels welcoming and complete. A Jenny Lind bed frame anchors the room, layered with patterned and textured bedding in that classic KLD way. A vintage-inspired chest of drawers with keyhole detailing adds character alongside a woven leather chair. This is what we aim for in every guest bedroom design — comfortable, layered, and thoughtfully styled without feeling overly formal.

Powder Bath
The powder bath may be small, but it makes a statement. Grey v-groove paneling sets the backdrop for a fluted marble sink basin and an arched brass-and-wood mirror. Penny tile floors bring in classic texture and a warm red color that complements the marble sink, and a vintage-inspired brass wall-mounted faucet adds just the right amount of vintage European charm.
Powder baths are often where we get to lean into character — and this one feels modern yet elevated.
