Heritage House Sales Associate

Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Sales Associate for our interior design shop. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, hospitable, and possess a professional demeanor. This role offers an opportunity to engage with customers, showcase your knowledge of interior design, and contribute to creating beautiful spaces for our clients.
Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Sales:

Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience.

Assist customers in selecting furniture, accessories, and materials that meet their design preferences and requirements.

Problem Solving and Consultation:

Proactively identify and address customer concerns or issues, finding appropriate solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Collaborate with the interior design team to gather additional information and resources to support customer inquiries and design projects.

Product Knowledge and Merchandising:

Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product lines, including furniture, lighting, fabrics, and accessories.

Stay updated on the latest interior design trends, industry developments, and product knowledge to better assist customers.

Maintain a visually appealing and organized sales floor by arranging products, updating displays, and ensuring cleanliness.

Administrative Tasks:

Accurately process customer transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, using our point-of-sale system.

Assist with inventory management tasks, such as receiving shipments, restocking merchandise, and conducting regular inventory counts.

Collaborate with the sales team to maintain accurate customer records, including contact information and purchase history.

Professionalism and Teamwork:

Maintain a professional and polished appearance, adhering to the company's dress code and grooming standards.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a positive and cohesive team environment.

Support other areas of the store as needed, such as assisting with events, providing coverage for other team members, or participating in store-wide initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional education or training in interior design or related fields is a plus.

Previous retail sales experience, preferably in the home decor or interior design industry.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to find creative solutions for customer needs and concerns.

Hospitable and customer-focused, with a genuine passion for providing exceptional service.

Professional attitude and strong work ethic, with the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced retail environment.

Basic computer literacy and experience with point-of-sale systems is preferred.

Flexibility to work a part-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
