The project Black Oak reveal isn't over quite yet! In fact, we have a few more spaces that we've been holding onto, anxiously awaiting the time to share... starting with the home's cozy main bedroom!
This bedroom is warm and cozy and tranquil all at the same time. It's got fun patterns, beautiful wood tones, modern lighting, and of course, we brought the interior stone in again for that headboard wall. Read on for all the design details and to shop the space!

Bedroom Stone Wall
Nothing says "modern cottage" like an interior stone wall! You've seen this design detail repeated throughout the Black Oak house (in the dining room and in the study), but the using this accent wall as the headboard wall created such an impact in this space. It instantly gave the cozy, rustic vibe I had in mind, and tied in so well to the rest of the home design.
Scalloped Nightstand Moment
The bedroom was a dream to furnish, and this beautiful nightstand moment was a favorite vignette from the home. We designed these custom scalloped nightstands to pair with our slipcover bed. They have a reeded front and a pull out drawer with a scallop detail at the bottom. I can't get over how perfect these turned out!
Above, we hung the coolest sculptural iron sconces! The traditional-style tapered shade with the forged iron body gave an instant European luxury touch to this warm, cozy bedroom.

Wood Bedroom Ceiling Beams
Complementing the organic stone wall, we added wood beams on the ceiling of the room. Often bedrooms can feel like one big box you have to fill because there are so few additional design needs (like cabinetry or appliances). The wood beams really gave shape to the room and draw the eye upward.

Rustic Bedroom Furniture & Decor
While the bed side of the room is so so beautiful, the opposite wall is just as dreamy! I found this extra-large primitive style dresser and knew this was THE PIECE for this room. It's organic, timeworn and just perfect for the space. Beside it, I created my dream reading nook, complete with a grey bouclé chaise lounge and a bobbin-leg side table – the the ultimate destination to curl up with my morning coffee and devotional.
Shop Black Oak Main Bedroom Dresser
We "potted" a faux maple tree (less maintenance please and thank you!) in a large vintage cumin pot in the corner – I think this looks so much more unique than a standard planter or woven basket.

The main bedroom is such a retreat in the home, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Be on the lookout for the next Black Oak room reveal... the main bathroom is in the work, and you won't want to miss the custom bathtub we designed (hint: fluted marble!). Cheers!
